© Phalaris Project 2013-2017 - Last updated July 8, 2017 The classic starters database was begun in an effort to establish a body of data about the horses that started in the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont and their connections. The ultimate goal is a database that can provide definitive, immediate and final answers to the questions that abound every spring about the history of bringing horses to the U.S. classic events and comparison of current horses to historical norms. Present efforts are concentrated on data entry of the basic information about starters and their human connections.
